My Shopping Experience with sammydress.com---- Entry#3

Okay! So as promised here is my last review about my experience with Sammydress. In my last post I had stated that the location of my items were near my hometown well they had actually arrived the 15th (when I wrote the last blog post) I was just not home so they left a notice on my door to which I was not notified by my family members until the following day. I happened to pick up my package the 17th of last month and have tested the items I ordered for durability so that I can talk a little more in-depth about the item with any potential sammydress buyers :)

Let me first get out of the way my thoughts about the shipping. From China to the U.S it took about ten days to arrive, I was pretty impressed about that, not going to lie! The packaging wasn't grand or anything special, just enough to get the job done. See below. The package was somewhat bigger than my hand and all the jewelry came packaged into separate plastic baggies.

Now let's get to the good stuff, I'll put a picture of the item from the website, then one that I took to compare. I will link each item in the name of each piece, just click and go.

Laconic and Decent Four Check Embellish Ear Pin For Female

Rating:

I really have no idea why I chose these earring to be exact, but what I do know is that I like them a lot! This particular model had to color options, a beige and white or the black and white. I ended receiving the beige and white, this selection was at random, I wasn't able to control what color they were going to send me. In my opinion, these kind of look purple to me (or maybe I am just colorblind). I don't mind this because purple just so happens to be my favorite color! In these pictures they do look beige, but in some lights I see purple... don't judge me! I think the size is decent for someone like me, who does not like wearing big/long earrings.

Punk Personalized Style Rivet Embellished Earring For Women

Rating:

This earring looks like it does in the picture so I was very content with that. The gold coating was to my liking on this one. Here is the issue I had with this one. The cuff part that goes on the upper part of the ear can definitely slide down, I had this happen to me a few times. Apart from that minor detail I enjoy the look this earring gives.

Retro Gothic Style Dragon Shape Earring

Rating:
One thing: too small for my ear, and I do not consider myself having big ears. Although I may have big ears and no one just never has wanted to point it out to me hehehe. Anyways I would have rated it 5 stars if this didn't pinch my top cartilage area (where you see the feet). And I have it on the other way than the model is showing in the website picture, but I found this way it was less of a hassle to put on for me, and it doesn't redden my ear as bad (because of the pinching).

Pair of Punk Style Cone Shaped Alloy Earrings For Women

Rating:
I love these! Very punk-rock! This is perfect for making an outfit more edgy, and specially for those, like me, who do not want to commit to getting gauges and having a big ol' hole in their ear! They are comfortable to wear and are exactly as shown in the website! The only thing I find strange is that there is a limit to how far you can secure the front part to the back so they are not tightly pressing against each other so I was wondering maybe they could fall off, but they haven't done so in the 2 weeks I've had them! Recommend indeed!

Punk Style and Stylish Twining Snake Ear Stud

Rating: +

This is my favorite purchase out of all the items I ordered this time! I've gotten lots of compliments when I wear it! Also, I have had a lot of people do a double-look. As in look, look away, and look back again so they make sure if they saw a snake-shape thing on my ear! It is pretty amusing :) The silver coating is very antique-looking which I love! It does not weight down my ear at all, and it is the perfect size for me! LOVE!

Corean Style High Quality Golden Hollow Ball Shape Long Pattern Necklace
Rating:
The least enthusiastic purchase of all. I actually had high hopes for this one when I saw it on the website. I don't have any sweater necklaces so I figured I'd spend on one here since the price was soo low. First of, I made an error when looking at the picture because I didn't notice both balls had an 'A' encrusted with faux diamond gems. That is my fault and this doesn't have to do with the rating I gave it. So when  go this necklace I was not satisfied with the gold coating. It looked very cheap. Kind of like the toys you get in those machines where you insert a quarter or fifty-cents. Second of all, I only wore this necklace three times before breaking. Once when I opened my package, second time when I wanted to show my family the things I got, and last when I wore it outside. If this had a hook/clasp I think it should have been fine for some time, but the only way to put it in was over your head. I don't have a big head, but I do have big-ish hair so it didn't survive long :(

To End: One thing to note on all the earring I purchased from this website is that they did not come with metallic closures. They came with rubber-typed ones For me this wasn't a problem because I could just switch out from other earrings I have, but I know this could be important to some of you out there to know. Overall I was satisfied with this purchase and have not lost my confidence that I will purchase from this website again. I am planning on making my next purchase clothing, where I will have pay shipping (eeeeek) but I want to find out for myself how their quality holds up. Most importantly, I want shoes and handbags ;)
Until next time!

My Shopping Experience with Sammydress.com---- Entry#2

SO ladies and gents (if there are any) it has been exactly 11 days since I made my jewelry purchase from Sammydress. Honestly, I have been checking daily the status of my package, but I haven't really become impatient about how long it has been. I just check it because I like to see the location my package is at (I find that incredibly cool, dorky I know.). only that in the past two days I haven't really given it much thought until I checked today in the morning and the location of where my package is at is here in my state a few hours away! I figured it would arrive today (which it didn't) or tomorrow (I hope so!!). This inclined me to write this post to just recap, and input my thoughts before I get the goods!

1) I paid no shipping costs since all the jewelry I picked out was FREE SHIPPING! I honestly was a little frightened about buying from somewhere far, far... far away, not in the U.S (where I am located.) So I figured an amount not so high for my first purchase would be okay since, personally, I didn't mind gambling that amount per say. Could have paid shipping for expedite shipping, but I was only willing to risk so much.

2) I really do not have any expectation of the items I ordered. I think I would have been more picky if it was clothing, but since that's not the case I have nothing more to add than that. However, I do plan on ordering clothing from the website and do another review in the future (around the end of July beggining of August to be exact.)  Only reason why I am hesitant not to do so is because I have seen that certain people have had to pay customs charge.

3) Customer Service: On my previous post I had stated that I did not know how their customer service was since I had not contacted them, but withing five days that I made my purchase I noticed one of my items read as "out of stock" so I emailed just to make sure if I was going to get the item. They took about a day and a half to respond, which to me wasn't bad since I know there is a major time difference and so on.

Ending thoughts: The only negative (slightly negative) thing I will have to say about Sammydress is that their representatives do not write very well in English, and I guess the only reason why this bugs me is because a) I'm anal (sometimes) about correct spelling and punctuation and b) there can be a misinterpretation from the sender to the person receiving. Though I, personally, have a problem with that I will say that they are very courteous! I LOVE that!

Until the final and last entry on my Sammydress review, take care!

My Shopping Experience with Sammydress.com ---- Entry#1

Recently I discovered this wholesale retail online shop, Sammydress, that sales cheap clothes online. Now, the first thing I asked myself was, what is "wholesale" mean? Well after watching countless hours of Youtube reviews, googling about the safe factor of ordering from this website, and visiting the site here is what I understood; Sammydress gets their merchandise from the factories that manufacture said products therefor, giving Sammydress the lowest amount possible for those items than they would be in retail stores. Here is the 'About Us' section on their website (http://www.sammydress.com/m-article-id-11.html) since my own interpretation may have been too vague.

Now, let me tell you folks, I spent two weeks (no lie) looking at the website and being amazed at the cute and fashionable clothes they have. The prices were making the garments even more alluring. Here's the thing I realized within three days of ogling. This is an asian online wholesale store. All the models are asian. Asians tend to have a petit body frame. I'm not asian. I'm considered a plus size in asian sizes. They only have a one size* fit for most clothes. Once I made these few realizations I discovered the shoes and handbags and decided lets go take a peek over to those items since a) they had my size in shoes, and b) handbags don't need to be "fitted." Guess what, I drooled over their shoes! I had quite a few pairs in my cart, but I still was hesitant about hitting the checkout button. During my Youtube investigation about Sammydress, I saw quite a lot of reviews stating that their items did not arrive, bought out of stock items to which the site had not stated were sold out, and said shipping took "forever." I saw plenty more about how the quality wasn't to their expectation, shipping costs was a lot. So I knew that I could not verify these claims until I purchased from them, but you can see why my hesitation was supported even more here at this point. Though, I could not verify here is what my expectations are on the items here on this site:
1) I get what I Paid for! Items being soooo cheap, I had to make a mind set that these aren't going to be top quality products.
2) Expect them not to last me a long time. Having said the above about the quality something that is not made well will not last you five years.
3) Patience is a Virtue! Parcels are coming from China, it'll take some time. Deal with it. (This one, I thought, wasn't going to be hard for me because I am a pretty patient person, plus I thought that if I forgot about it and then received it in the mail it would be a nice surprise for me.)
4) Communication is key! Here, I figured if I ordered something I can always email, and be updated on my items. Though I have not tried their customer service yet, so this one will need altering in the future.

After my week with my Sammydress account I found their Faceook Group. After liking them I was directed to their Sammydress Giveaway Group. Here I was thinking Oh gosh free stuff! Where do I sign up! Who doesn't like free stuff!! :) Go to their group and see how the contest works for winning. it's super easy! Now at this point I found out about S-points. There;s a wheel you spin and you can get up to 100s points to which every 50s points saves you one US Dollar on your purchase. Here I was like Ohhh yeah definitely getting me those shoes I've been looking at. Truth is when I went to my cart to see the total it was $19USD so I was like alrighty, I'm loving that price. Then I scroll a tee bit down to the shipping costs and the shipping was what kinda got me disappointed, but I soon realized the shipping cost made sense. Even though I realized it made sense it kinda hurt me seeing my $19USD turn to a total of $30USD. Here I was like No, I'm not ready to commit to this purchase. So again, goes my browsing and this time I moved to home decor stuff, and jewelry. Home decor has cute things, but the shipping still got to me then on to jewelry. I do not know if it is all jewelry, but I'll be safe and say mostly all are free shipping! I was like weeeeeeeeee! :) So I loaded my cart with a few pieces and my total was 12 something, I was able to use only like 3 dollars worth of S-points (I do not know why that is, but it seems it doesn't let you use them all only a certain amount.) regardless I paid for insurance and tracking information which was around three dollars so with my s-point it was basically free. I ordered yesterday June 4th. The status of my order is at "processed," but I cannot still track (Though I'll give that like a week before I do any contacting.) And there is where I am at with my order. I do plan to write a few more posts about my experience and I will definitely review the items I got here on my blog, so stay tuned!

To End: I mentioned one size sizes. This means that these sizes are meant to fit only a certain body type with specific measurements. The measurements are in each article of clothing (in centimeters). I forgot to mention how I like the fact that they have measurements for each item, but I cannot testify if these are correct since I have not purchased any clothing from them... yet ;)

What's your body shape?

All these weird things like hearing my peers say, I'm a pear! or I wish I was an hourglass. I was like WTH are you talking about! After I understood that they were talking about their body shapes. I just found it silly the names used assThociated with body shapes; apple? square??  The proportions of the object made sense when comparing to a ones body, but personally I was confused in what category I belonged in. Everyone sees their body in their own way so here I am thinking I have these GINARMOUS thighs, but the reality was they weren't as huge as I thought them to be. So in case you find yourself in this same scenario or you are just curious to see what your body shape is I found these two websites to help you figure it out :)

this site (above is okay)
this one is a little much better because it actually lets you record your measurements for a more accurate reading :) PLUS it gives you tips on the best ways to dress your body shape and what to accentuate.

Enjoy!

the "Palazzo" pant... hmmm?

This is a trend that is starting to be seen more and more. From runways, to celebrities, and from celebrities to the everyday commoners as myself. I believe there are certain clothing pieces that any type of body can pull off, but not the Palazzo pant. I mean those hemlines, ahh, they get bigger and bigger! I myself haven't tried a pair of Palazzo's, but I don't think I will any time soon. Don't even feel encouraged to buy them as an experimental thing. First of, I am short my upper body being more longer than waist down, so I really don't want to look like I'm drowning in a pair. Second, I am not slender so I feel like Palazzo's will make me look more fuller than I am. They probably work much better on a slender/tall gal with long legs :) Also, they make great runway pieces or editorial pictures, but I don't know how the pants plus movement works out. But maybe there is a perfect hemline for each body? Not too wide where it looks like you are drowning in it, and not to narrow where it will take the Palazzo out of pants? (good theory if i say so myself). Now I know I am judging a book by its cover right now, but when I do try a pair I will again compare. It's good to compare a before and after opinion post, I know I could possibly have a change of mind. I love to try new things and the Palazzo's are on my list of clothing pieces to have (that and peter pan collars among other things !).

If any of you have a pair I'd love to see a picture of you in them! C'mon someone show me that I'm wrong and short curvy gals can wear them too!

Product Reviews

I am a girl with a simple life, and for the most part with simple needs. I don't often like to use many products because there's always a skeptical part in my mind saying will it work? I do not like wasting  money on useless products. I do recognize that one must do so in order to find that perfect product that works well for you. Now below I will give a review on these products that I have been using for more than a year so I can truthfully say they work well for me, and believe they will work for many out there (gosh, I sound like an infomercial). Anyways, I won't try to convince you to use it, but I will give details of why I use it/them. If you find yourself in the same boat as I am in, then why not give these a try.

  • have really dry skin? flakiness? itchiness/irritation?

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion

Since I was young I've had really dry skin. Oh my you can not imagine (unless you have experienced it). Every time after I showered I would feel my skin really soft and nice, but after mere minutes passing my face would feel like it was getting tighter. Not even an hour later I had flakes! I tried putting different lotions right after the shower and they worked... for a few days. It was just super uncomfortable for me. I also had itchy skin on my arms (in the elbow folds) and no creme soothed my arms. It got to the point where I bled from all the scratching I did. I had to squeeze lemons on just so I can make the itchiness go away (for a while). Other lotions which had scents made it even worse so I had to start looking for unscented ones. After trial and error I found this Aveeno lotion and as soon as I put it on my skin felt super soft, and the best part, it stayed that way all day until it was bedtime! I was scratching less and less the more I used it and my rashes started fading away. I also loved that with this lotion I had to apply it less often than others. Now, a year plus later I'm still using, and still loving it! While my skin conditions did better I am always in need of the lotion because I naturally have dry skin, but it's okay now that I have this with me :)

  • want long lasting eyeliners? ones that color in dark and very pigmented?
NYX Eyeline (this one is a red lip liner, couldn't find my eyeliner teehehe)

Now, when I say 'long lasting eyeliner' let me clarify that I mean it is only the case when you press the eyeliner down with some eye shadow. I also love that it is very inexpensive ($3) and gives me the right amount of pigment that I want! I tried the .99c eyeliners, but oh man they did not work. They colored in, but very faintly (it wasn't what I wanted). I soon found this brand of eyeliner (in multiple shades I may add) and they were perfect! When I draw in the line for my top lid it works good, now on the waterline is where I press with eye shadow (I try avoiding water-proof eye products). If you want something cheap, but that it gives you a good color then this is good :)
  • washing away eye make-up with water irritating? can't get too close to inside the eyes with other products?
Neutrogena Ultra Soft Eye Makeup Remover Pads

Looove! I wish I can say always, but I frequently use eyeliner! Now, I'll be truthful, but at the end of the day I sometimes feel so lazy/tired to go wash my eyeliner off and just go to sleep like that (*gasps*). I bet most of you have done this once or twice! I'd feel like I was in an episode of the Twilight Zone if I heard other wise ;) So that being the case I decided to give these removing pads a try and I love them! (or else you wouldn't see them on here haha)  Ooh I almost forgot I love that I can be really carefree and get the pad as close to my eye as possible without worrying if any of the product goes inside my eye. I do try and be careful because even though I do that there isn't anywhere on the container where it says it's safe to do so (but nothing has happened to me so I say try that at your own risk). You must wash your face with your regular cleaner after removing your make-up with this (but shhh sometimes I don't! eeeekk!!) I just get a damp cloth and do that instead. I can not guarantee how well these work for water-proof eye makeup, but if any of you know please share :)

I will try using new products just so I can review on here, but I thought I'd start with my most loved ones first. Take care random readers sending out virtual hugs!
